Show Notes

In this DroneOn Show owners episode, Mike, Jason, and Kevin dive deep into the real-world challenges and strategies of scaling nuWay Ag and Drone Deer Recovery. They explore building a strong dealer program through local support and distribution rather than just SEO, leveraging their Drone Deer Recovery audience to grow nuWay traffic, and the importance of the New AG Track app. The conversation covers international content reach leading to unique sales like batteries for remote island rat control, high call volumes from across the country, the new Kansas branch with same-day training success stories, and why local dealers are essential as drone adoption remains under 4%. They also discuss T100 performance in tough environments, the value of screen recording flights, DJI transparency and parts availability, the upcoming Wichita flagship retail store experience, and the thermal pilot locator’s ongoing impact. Honest talk on growth, obstacles, and what’s next for the business.

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Remember Kevin was telling us that we're going to build the dealer program off of SEO. It's just. That's the only way we're going to do it. Yeah. [00:00:07] Speaker B: It doesn't quite work. [00:00:08] Speaker A: It doesn't quite work like that. It's like we haven't given our Drone Deer recovery website enough respect for what it has built for us. We use the Drone Deer recovery website and traffic to also start sending traffic to New Ag. In the beginning, we used to have them both on the same website and then we started sending traffic to that website. And Also what helped Newegg.com kind of gained traction SEO wise, because we were already sending people there through drone. Derek, I was listening. [00:00:37] Speaker B: And it's. [00:00:37] Speaker A: We've. [00:00:37] Speaker B: We've been working our tails off for [00:00:39] Speaker A: the past two years, three years. [00:00:41] Speaker B: And it's like it's not as, just as easy as snapping your fingers and starting another website. [00:00:45] Speaker A: No, no. I mean, well, yeah, it actually is that easy. You can start another website. Well, yeah. It doesn't mean you're. [00:00:50] Speaker B: It's not going to be successful. Yeah. [00:00:51] Speaker C: A good example is like with AG Track, right. We have, I think a total of about 500 downloads or new users in the app and there's, you know, probably half a dozen tracking apps in the last, what, six months have been released. But the difficult thing is now no longer building something as much as the distribution. [00:01:08] Speaker A: Yep, yep. That's what's funny you bring that up because like Jake Paul has his own index fund now. I think it's an index fund or own fund. Yeah. But, but what they're doing is these huge funds don't have a distribution channel. [00:01:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:01:24] Speaker A: And then they team up with content creators that have the attention and boom, it pops off like they raised 100 million bucks in like no time. [00:01:35] Speaker B: That's insane. [00:01:35] Speaker A: But it's all about distribution. It's just like what we have on Drone Deer. Yes, we talk about the doc. Not that maybe we're selling a bunch of docs, but we're definitely going to sell a bunch of docs for some people because they're already getting traffic organically for the dock. But now we just spoke about it and it's going to sell more docs. I mean, we, we did have a decent video. Did you, you seen the vertical that went out with the doc about how excited I am about the doc? And that thing did over 300,000 views now between Instagram and YouTube. And it did reach some pretty big creators. But that's why text, you guys. And I was like we're going to have to figure out how to take our products internationally because our content, it's not boxed in by the United States, it's not boxed in by Canada. It's international. I mean, there's a reason that there's a guy in the middle of the ocean right now spreading rat bait on islands out there. [00:02:34] Speaker C: Isn't that just incredible? You should talk about that. That, that to me is. [00:02:37] Speaker B: And we sold them the drones, right? [00:02:39] Speaker A: No, we sold them the batteries. Yeah. So it's check, check this friggin video out. I'm just like I told Landon, can we go do something cool like this? This is what he's doing right now. He's working for the government of those Iceland islands. Like how fun would that be? I mean, they're literally in the middle of nowhere. It took them three days to sail with a boat from Hawaii to that island. And that was the closest place to ship their products to and then get it to the island was Hawaii. [00:03:12] Speaker B: That's crazy. [00:03:12] Speaker A: Took them three days to get there. [00:03:13] Speaker C: I like that kind of adventure. [00:03:15] Speaker A: Yeah, Just saying. Yeah, that would be crazy. But then again, you know, Landon, we talk about this all the time is like, we can go create content like this. You know, we could have went to South Africa with you created sick content showing people how these drones can do stuff in the mountains. But then we have to figure out how to turn that into dollars because we can spend all kinds of dollars on these cool adventures. But if we can't sell people drones. [00:03:43] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. And in that case we had, you know that client called you and said my batteries are geo locked. Right. I got out of the US international waters, whatever. It's like I can't take off my drone. [00:03:55] Speaker A: No, that was. We didn't know. He didn't know. [00:03:58] Speaker C: He probably had to wait, what a day. [00:04:00] Speaker A: You know, you did reach out to DJI and they didn't give you any answers prior to making that sale. I, I sent you a coordinates. I said, you asked them if we sell them, are they going to work? [00:04:10] Speaker C: And even like in the G. DJI ecosystem for agriculture, it's like, it's the same thing we were talking about with the release of, you know, the new Ag drone or whatever. It's like nobody actually totally knows. People have different concepts of like even inside DJI the organization. [00:04:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it's so big. [00:04:26] Speaker A: There's 10,000 people that work in those two towers everywhere. [00:04:31] Speaker C: And more and more, you know, it's like, I will say with respect to DJI though, like they, they Want to make sure that their markets are fair, and they want to make sure that they can stop their big AG drones being used for unlawful things like war zone or criminal activity. So they have these ways. And then we, as a distributor, as a dealer, we have, you know, if somebody were to steal a drone or something, we can lock it remotely, like, so there's. There's all these, like, safeguards built in. But to DJI's credit, they did unlock those drones for use of international water. [00:05:00] Speaker A: The batteries. It was the batteries. [00:05:02] Speaker C: The batteries, yep. And that took them probably a day to do that. [00:05:05] Speaker A: It took him three days. [00:05:06] Speaker C: Three days to do. [00:05:06] Speaker A: But it was because of the time change, because by the time they figured out the top. The top. Top engineers or whatever that have the ability to do that, they had already gone home. And then it was, like, the weekend, and then it didn't get done until the next Monday. [00:05:20] Speaker B: That's brutal. [00:05:20] Speaker A: Yeah, it's brutal. Nobody else could do it. [00:05:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:05:23] Speaker A: And I was on their tail because they literally sailed out there. Took them three days. They're stuck. Literally could not do anything until those batteries were unlocked. But you know what's funny is I asked the DJI rep, I was like, what region is that? And he didn't even really know. Middle of freaking ocean. Right, but they should have some kind of maps, right? [00:05:45] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:05:45] Speaker A: But they're not selling equipment out in the middle of the ocean. I had no clue that that's an actual thing even. Did you. Do you know where they're at? [00:05:53] Speaker B: No. Okay. [00:05:54] Speaker A: I got to show it to you at some point. I'll. I'll pull it up here. [00:05:56] Speaker B: That's pretty cool, though. [00:05:57] Speaker A: It is actually. [00:05:58] Speaker B: Like, they're just a big rat problem out there. [00:06:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Because there's no predators out there, and so they're, you know, trying to control them. [00:06:07] Speaker B: But, I mean, who cares about the rats out there if there's nobody out there? [00:06:10] Speaker A: They'll literally take over the islands. [00:06:12] Speaker B: No way. [00:06:13] Speaker A: So here, I'll. I'll just drop a pin, and then I'll zoom out when I say they're in the middle of the ocean. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Oh, my. Yeah, they are in the middle of the ocean. [00:06:21] Speaker A: I wish they. These people could see. So, yeah, Hawaii is, like, right there, and they're still over here. [00:06:30] Speaker B: Jeez. [00:06:32] Speaker A: Yeah, it's pretty cool, though. It is really, really. You know, I don't think we understand and realize what all these drones are being used for in other parts of the. The world, because it has to be on social media. It has to be interesting enough content for Instagram, YouTube, tick tock to push it to you that you find interest in it in order to see it. But I think that's where our content, we try to make it interesting enough that it's, it's pushing it to international audiences. [00:07:01] Speaker C: We sold a drone. You guys went to Iceland to train, you know, a different use case on volcanic rock. And this week we quoted a project in France and got actually permission from DJI to sell into France and then, you know, support a French buyer. And I don't know if that will come through or not, but, you know, going back to like, how do. How do you actually make dollars from this? Some of those projects, Like, I think anybody who has an interesting international project, they should at least reach out because some of those, even if it doesn't make dollars, we love drones and cool projects. Some of them we can do without making dollars. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We definitely don't want people to not reach out to us. But I mean, it's weekly. [00:07:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. And actually I, I actually I look through the calls that we got this last week, just. Dude, there's so we have over 500 calls last week. [00:07:52] Speaker A: Yeah. Across, like people want to know why you don't pick up the phone. It's like we have 15 people just picking up the phone. We're doing really good, but we're going to do better. [00:08:00] Speaker C: Yeah, we, we. And it is. [00:08:02] Speaker B: Was that just her in Ohio? [00:08:03] Speaker C: No, that's. Across are also our new branch, Kansas. Yeah, brand new. You know, we've now sold drones out of Kansas. We've now trained people out of Kansas. [00:08:12] Speaker A: I seen on dji Smart Farm, Apple app that they were doing a demo yesterday, like, because I could tell that they had sprayed. [00:08:21] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Nice, nice. [00:08:23] Speaker C: Yeah. So get this for about Kansas is interesting because somebody came to a demo. A farmer came to the demo, saw the drone, purchased the drone and received training at his farm that night. [00:08:34] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:08:34] Speaker B: That's. [00:08:35] Speaker A: No, no, no. But the guys like, you got to tell them it's not probably always. [00:08:39] Speaker B: It's not going to happen like that every day. We're gonna try. [00:08:42] Speaker C: It's probably not gonna happen like that every day. [00:08:44] Speaker A: We're gonna try. But. [00:08:45] Speaker C: But it is cool to have like we can offer like out of our Ohio branch. We sell nationwide. I just saw the last trailer that we. The last shipment because I was looking through all of our shipping stuff. The last one that we ship, we shipped to California. Two pallets to California. And you know, we support that customer with calls and training. And they fly in and, you know, we do the whole thing. But how cool is it when a lot of your customers are within two hour drive? [00:09:11] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:12] Speaker C: You can just serve them in a whole different way. [00:09:14] Speaker A: I mean, there's no doubt that that's the Mecca of Farming is central U.S. and that's why we kind of picked Witchita. And we're not done. We're going to scale out of, out of there. [00:09:25] Speaker C: It's just like there's so much, you know, we talked about the numbers, but if there's 4% of fields being sprayed [00:09:30] Speaker B: by spray around spray, I think it's actually 4%. [00:09:33] Speaker C: That was the high end of like, or that, that's, that's the number DJI gave to us. [00:09:36] Speaker B: Okay. So I actually would think it's less than that. [00:09:39] Speaker C: Whatever the case is. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Less than that. [00:09:40] Speaker B: I think it's less, dude. After driving out across the country in Colorado, dude, it is insane. I was, I told Kaylee, I was like, we're going to have to sell millions of drones. [00:09:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:09:50] Speaker B: And that is why we definitely have to sell millions. Yeah. [00:09:52] Speaker C: Okay. And that part of the reason that we're pivoting to a dealer program, it's, it's because the only way to satisfy the demand that the market's going to have over the next five years is you have to sell to people on the ground who can support local customers. That' what? Agricultural drones are very different than enterprise drones. [00:10:08] Speaker B: Yeah, very different. [00:10:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:09] Speaker C: Enterprise drones, you support people by having a cool program like our, you know, protection plan, extended protection plan, where if you crash your drone, it's your fault. You're flying into a tree, you send it back to us that day or the next day, we ship you a brand. [00:10:21] Speaker B: It's just completely different. It's tiny compared to something that you have to ship on a pallet. [00:10:26] Speaker A: But there's also way less crashes with enterprise drones. You're up in an wide open area where it's safe to fly. If you're flying an ag drone, you, you are in the most hazardous conditions all the time. Yeah. 10ft above the crop. [00:10:43] Speaker C: Just, just brutal. [00:10:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Just moving at like 30 or 40 mile an hour. You're always at risk. Yeah. [00:10:49] Speaker B: I mean, if your radar fails for a little bit and there's a hill coming up, it's, you know, it just doesn't work. [00:10:53] Speaker C: We were on a call where you were showing the lead DJI Solutions engineer a specific crash with the T100 where the radar didn't work properly. [00:11:02] Speaker A: We have to find that crash log. [00:11:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:11:04] Speaker A: Because at 100% was uploaded to local. It said saved to local. [00:11:09] Speaker B: But the. But the radar did work, right? [00:11:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:11:11] Speaker B: Like everything was functioning. Like Mike did not build an obstacle in that field. And the drone came up and it seen the tree. It stopped. But as it turned, somehow the. [00:11:19] Speaker A: It clipped it, you know. [00:11:20] Speaker C: Okay. [00:11:21] Speaker B: It got too close. [00:11:22] Speaker C: Okay. But it was accelerating into the tree. [00:11:24] Speaker A: Challenging environment because right at a turn. Right. So it was just getting ready to start its next straight line. And it was a hill right in that turn. There was a hill right in that turn. And so it started climbing. But during the climb, I mean, I'm talking within less than two seconds. It had to figure out that that's a tree, not a hill. Stop. But you're already going 20ft per second. And tried to it. It was very challenging. [00:11:50] Speaker C: Dude, I would love to see from any drone, like the kinds of. I'd love for people to send in to podcastle drones.com I'd love to see the kinds of challenging environments these drones get in and spray that are just unthinkable to do with any other system. [00:12:06] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:12:06] Speaker C: And it would be cool to see the good and the bad of like, you know, these drones crashing these drones. [00:12:11] Speaker A: I think. I think once they get into the really, really ugly stuff, it. You are better off doing RTK and mapping your fields prior to going in there. Yeah. [00:12:23] Speaker B: If you got the time to do it, that is probably the safest way to do it. [00:12:26] Speaker A: How's that kid doing it in Washington that's doing a lot of these? [00:12:30] Speaker B: He's just flying around with the drone. [00:12:32] Speaker A: He is. And that's some gnarly. Oh, it is gnarly. Steep, mostly. [00:12:37] Speaker B: Canyons. [00:12:37] Speaker A: Canyons. [00:12:38] Speaker B: Like long mile. Long canyons. I mean, they're longer than that. [00:12:42] Speaker A: See, like, I start talking about this and this is where we are. Like, again, we need to go show what these drones are being used for. But then we look at the budget and we're like, holy crap. [00:12:53] Speaker B: Doesn't make sense. [00:12:54] Speaker C: The budget, man. Yeah. It is out of control. Especially if this is like a weekly thing. Like, you end up if you do not care about ever being home. You could do this way more affordably. Just. Just live in hotels for a couple months, whatever. But when you have families and you want to be home. [00:13:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:13:10] Speaker C: You know, most evenings it gets really expensive really fast. [00:13:13] Speaker A: Very expensive. That's where you're flying. Even ourselves, I can fly ourselves to go to these places. But the. Just the operating cost of getting to get there. We have to figure out how to justify that. But there's no doubt. Right. We're talking about this guy that sprays canyons. No. Nobody's seen that. [00:13:31] Speaker B: No, dude. [00:13:32] Speaker A: But. [00:13:32] Speaker B: But you think, you think canyons like, we think canyons around here. Like, how are you gonna spray a canyon? The things are just, you know, tiny. These things are huge. [00:13:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:13:40] Speaker B: Like just hundreds of acres of just. And they're. They're big canyons like that you can actually spray. [00:13:46] Speaker C: Wow. [00:13:47] Speaker B: Yeah, it's pretty wild. [00:13:48] Speaker A: So it's just like, gosh, that's where I start talking them. We gotta. I think we gotta show it because people don't realize what they can. What they're capable of doing. The truth is, little Ohio farm or little Ohio fields where we live, you get tired of. Just like you would if I'd be in Illinois, I could be spraying 600 acre fields for a week. You're gonna get tired of it. But it would be really cool to see a guy in Texas right down there doing their pasture work where they have trees all over the place. Like, we talked to Yanni and he's doing a lot of mesquite control, I think. But you don't see it. You don't realize how complicated some of those fields are that he's building. It'd be cool to go. [00:14:30] Speaker B: It would be cool to see it. Yeah. [00:14:31] Speaker A: Yep. But somehow we gotta talk to the, the executives and see if they can [00:14:37] Speaker C: figure out do we get it approved. I did a. I looked through the calls that we got just in the last week or two because I was like, we get so many interesting calls. Like, what are people actually. And so here's, here's a couple ones I think are just interesting. So there's a guy from Oklahoma that called in and he had a bunch of quail fly up on his last flight. Springfield, a bunch of quail flew up and demolished his T50. Had a full tank in it. And so drone went down. Whatever. [00:15:07] Speaker A: It's like, gosh, I'd love to see the screen recording of that. [00:15:09] Speaker C: That would be awesome. [00:15:11] Speaker A: That's one thing I don't think that a lot of people, if they're custom app guys, are screen recording. And I think they should. [00:15:17] Speaker B: They should. [00:15:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:18] Speaker A: It is so easy to screen record. And if nothing happens. Right. Let's say you screen record it for four days and nothing's happened, then just delete those screen recordings. It's so easy to do it on your controller. And I think it also could protect a custom app guy if he would store that away on a hard drive. Farmer Calls, he's like, hey, did you spray that back 40? Yeah. Here it is. Here's the proof. Right? My drone was spraying right there. [00:15:44] Speaker C: Yep. [00:15:45] Speaker B: Yeah, because you could, you could literally. I mean, you can show somebody the as applied map. Yeah, but. But on a screen recording, you can actually see the flow coming out of the drone. [00:15:54] Speaker A: Yep. Yeah. So when I talked to somebody, I was just talking to Ross and I was like, ross, just screen record. It's super easy. Just screen record all the time. [00:16:02] Speaker C: And what's the, what's the hotkey to do that? Is that default? [00:16:05] Speaker A: It's like a. You push the back button and the record button kind of like it's not at the very same time, but pretty a sequence. [00:16:13] Speaker B: Or you can just pull down the notification bar and hit it. [00:16:15] Speaker A: Yeah, easy. Got any other interesting? [00:16:19] Speaker C: Yeah. So that guy had been running 800 acres on a chipped and cracked blade. Recommended or not recommended. And he also had been running without his radar on just to be more efficient. [00:16:28] Speaker A: Not recommended. Not recommended. But hey, we were there. [00:16:31] Speaker B: Not recommended, but you got to do what you got to do. [00:16:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:16:33] Speaker A: Yep, totally. I mean, yesterday I was spraying and I didn't want to put it in the power lines like you did, so I just shut off. Altitude stabilization radar off. Altitude stabilization off. I mean, I was in a sketchy situation underneath power lines. So not only am I looking above me, I'm looking below me. I'm looking at my heading. I'm looking at so many different things. And I'm flying along because I've been doing it now for so many hours. I mean, thousands. It's like, it's not a big deal to me anymore, but I'm, I'm in this situation. I'm thinking, I'd love to see a new guy try this. [00:17:06] Speaker B: Not recommended. Like, no. Yeah. I don't think we realize or we give ourselves credit enough for how, how much experience we have and doing things like that. I don't think a lot of people [00:17:18] Speaker A: should think about it like flying instruments. Flying an airplane on instruments. You are always scanning. When I went to school, that is the first thing they started. They said, you never fixate on one thing. If you fixate on one thing, you, you will go down because. Okay, so you have a six pack normal, like heading, altitude, your vertical speed indicator. Like there's all these things that you look this. Okay, look at it for just briefly. Now look at this one. Is that reading? Now look at the next one. And the same thing with flying that drone when you have all that going on is don't just look at your altitudes that you're above the. The ground now. Look at the. What is your altitude ab with the wires above you. [00:17:59] Speaker B: Okay. [00:17:59] Speaker A: But don't just look at the one that's above you. Because if you are just looking at staying 8ft, all of a sudden you'll be 2ft off the ground. So you have to be watching all the time. So I would say if somebody's watching this or listening to it is if you are going to put yourself in this situation, tell yourself one thing. Do not get fixated on one thing. Just keep scanning. Keep scanning. [00:18:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:22] Speaker A: And you're going to be able to do it. You can definitely do it. [00:18:25] Speaker B: You can definitely do it. I mean, with the 25, the other last week down on that big passenger job, I flew along the. Underneath those power lines all. And I was. [00:18:33] Speaker A: I had to be. [00:18:34] Speaker B: So I was 8ft below the power line and 6ft above the ground. [00:18:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. [00:18:38] Speaker B: So. [00:18:38] Speaker A: And it's still better than like another way of applicating. [00:18:43] Speaker B: Oh, I mean, we were right there. Why not just go ahead and hit it? [00:18:46] Speaker A: Yep. [00:18:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:46] Speaker C: I called from Georgia claiming that he's involved in burndown over forestry and he's getting burned down. [00:18:55] Speaker A: For people that aren't familiar. That just means kill everything. [00:18:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:58] Speaker C: 100 bucks an acre. [00:19:00] Speaker A: You freaking go. [00:19:01] Speaker C: And I don't know that he's doing it with a drone right now, but he's going to start and he's otherwise in the industry or knows about the industry, and he's like, this is where I'm going to go make money. [00:19:11] Speaker A: Nice. You go now. I don't know if that 100 bucks an acre is includes the chemical or is that just his service cost? [00:19:18] Speaker C: No idea. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Yeah, just go get it. I mean, the thing is, you get in a niche market, it's kind of unlimited on what you can charge to start with. Because there's some ways that people just literally can't get this done. Like, we. We've been doing a good bit of work for the whitetail habitat like they set up. They used to do that all with tractor, and it took them days to spray some stuff. Now we come in there and do it in a couple hours. They're paying us a premium to do those things. If you'd set up your company to specifically do that type of work, you're going to charge more than 15. [00:19:54] Speaker C: How did you get. [00:19:55] Speaker B: Well, you have to, because a lot of that stuff takes a lot longer. You're not going to go spray 100 acres in, you know, two hours. [00:20:00] Speaker C: Yep. [00:20:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Because it's. [00:20:02] Speaker B: They might have two acres here, and then an hour and a half down the road, there might be another three acres or five acres. And it's not. No 20 bucks an acre. Yeah. [00:20:09] Speaker C: How did you meet the. Those whitetail habitat guys? [00:20:13] Speaker A: I. I think they knew us through drone deer recovery. They did. And then they also seen us at a show. [00:20:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:20:18] Speaker B: Yeah. I talked to him, like, last year, and then he just basically wanted to see what it. What it can do for him. And we've been working for him since then. [00:20:25] Speaker A: Yeah. I just can't believe that nobody in our area said, that's what I'm going after and that's what I'm going to do. Because, like, yesterday, technically, the corn that I was spraying is for deer, and we don't market that. And there is definitely a market out there. [00:20:42] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Because these guys that plant corn, I was like, geez, Lane. And I should have told him I could have brought, you know, some fertilizer. I could have put liquid fertilizer on his corn out the middle of nowhere so his corn grows faster. So he has more corn for his deer. Didn't think about it, but that's something. If I wanted to do that, I totally could go out. [00:21:00] Speaker B: And especially in this area, like, there's so many people that will. [00:21:03] Speaker A: But I think you could do it. Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa. [00:21:07] Speaker B: I agree. [00:21:08] Speaker A: And northern Missouri pretty easily, I think. [00:21:11] Speaker B: I think so, too. [00:21:12] Speaker A: What's funny, Kim? [00:21:14] Speaker C: So a guy from Texas called this week, drone deer recovery, and he said he was flying his thermal drone about 300 yards down that way to go look at his brother's property, supposedly look at his brother's dog. And his brother comes out and is like, what the heck is this? Shoots it twice with a shotgun, and the drone keeps flying. Okay, this is where, again, all I'm saying is here's what the calls that we got. I can't verify this because I haven't. I haven't spoken to the guy, but drone keeps flying. But then he comes back, lands it, and there's little pellets in it that he's, like, pulling out. And so he calls our support line to wonder if there's any kind of a replacement plan that we can do for that. And unfortunately, he had not purchased the extended protection plan, because I think if he would have. [00:21:57] Speaker A: Yeah, we would have had to. [00:21:59] Speaker C: We would have probably replaced it for him. That's a good plan, but also probably not recommended to shoot, especially double whammy when it's your brother. Shooting your drone out of the sky that you just purchased a little bit of. [00:22:11] Speaker B: He probably didn't know it was his brother. [00:22:12] Speaker C: Probably didn't know he's his brother. Yeah. [00:22:14] Speaker B: But. [00:22:14] Speaker C: And it raises, especially with the new. Some of the new, like the M400 and like, how. What you can do with that. It raises some privacy questions. On. [00:22:22] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm bouldered on sketch. We did that comparison video with the M 400 and the. The 4T. But again, it's not a comparison. I was telling somebody yesterday or the day before. It's like comparing a pineapple. [00:22:35] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:35] Speaker A: To an apple. [00:22:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:38] Speaker C: Because you can compare it, but it's not a comparison. [00:22:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:40] Speaker C: And that's probably my favorite line from what you guys did the other day that you had where. Where you're like, guys, this is a comparison. But there is no comparison. [00:22:49] Speaker A: Yeah, well, yeah, it's just the truth. [00:22:52] Speaker B: And I think the more I see about this, these things, the more people are going to find out that these drones, these. These blue drones are not what. They're not what they're advertised to be. [00:23:00] Speaker A: Oh, you're talking. Okay, so you just hopped into the. The agricultural spray drone comparison between the. The JJ and the T100. [00:23:09] Speaker C: Because I knew you guys were out there, you know, had. You guys were under pressure because you were doing a real job and I had made you guys. Would you guys please take different drones? Because I want to, like, we need to show people what it's like. [00:23:20] Speaker A: Well, yeah, because, I mean, people want. They want to see. See us fly this J150 because they've been taught or told, you know, all the things it can do. The truth is we just don't want to because we have a better option available. Yeah, we don't want to, but people want to see us use it so they can make a buying decision. [00:23:44] Speaker B: Probably. But, like, and we also didn't want to do it because we didn't want to run the drone down. [00:23:50] Speaker C: Like, we want the whole industry to, like, it should grow. There's some interesting stuff happening right now with other. You know, it's looking more and more like what you maybe need to do to get FCC approval for new drone models is you need to make the claim that you have a plan of bringing manufacturing to America and that opens the road to future FCC approvals. And when you are at 4% of acres sprayed or even less than that, like, you guys think, then the way that you win is not, like, tearing each other down. Right. The way that you win is less if we got up to 6%. We would all be happy. I mean. [00:24:31] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. But. [00:24:32] Speaker C: But at the same time, you want. [00:24:33] Speaker A: If you're going, if you're selling equipment, [00:24:36] Speaker C: these are big purchase decisions with big claims. Yeah. [00:24:40] Speaker A: That this equipment can do. That's when you should compare them. [00:24:45] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:45] Speaker A: And, and what, what. What we all can agree on is since this industry got this whole DJI threat thing started happening, that's when these other models came into the industry. [00:24:59] Speaker B: Yep. [00:25:00] Speaker A: Like, yeah, that, that, that was the [00:25:02] Speaker B: only reason really, that they were able to come into the industry. [00:25:05] Speaker A: Yes. There were literally two spray drones. It was the XAG and the DJI drones. There were other spray drones. There were others. But not actively growing in the market. [00:25:17] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've talked about this before. But, you know, how viable is a 10 million or $25 million investment in a spray drone if you think DJI is not going to be hampered in the US market? Or maybe it takes 50 or $100 million. I don't know how much it takes to like, bring or like to manufacture another agricultural drone. But how viable is that investment if you don't think DJI is going to get kneecapped? Well, it's very difficult. [00:25:43] Speaker A: That's just what Lanen was bringing up yesterday. We're going to make a video on five things that would need to happen to break into the agricultural spray drone market. The problem is, is DJI is so good. Just to try to break in is so difficult because we've seen it with the J150. Number one is good connection with your controller. Okay. Very difficult to do because DJI has their own proprietary connection system that they use. Okay. So that's going to be difficult. Number two is have a really good FPV camera. A really good one. Yeah. Good luck with that. Number three is have a good battery. That's one. Number four is have a great charging solution. You can have a. A battery, a battery pack, but a charging solution that supercharges that battery is a whole another thing. Right. We don't have three phase generators readily available that are decent size in America. It's just like Tesla when they built their supercharging stations, they had to build their own transformer stations to be able to proceed. Produce that amount of power going into the battery pack. So then that means you have to. You have to create the whole thing. The. The whole thing, not just the drone. [00:27:07] Speaker B: Yep. [00:27:07] Speaker A: You have to create good batteries. You have to create good charging solution. [00:27:11] Speaker C: This is just a little tidbit that I found so interesting, but Trump Came in and he removed the EV vehicle mandate that gave you like, 7,500 bucks off of a new car. [00:27:20] Speaker A: That's why Elon got pissed. And they were. [00:27:22] Speaker C: Well, I don't know if that's true or not. That's what Trump would tell you. [00:27:25] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:26] Speaker C: I think Elon. [00:27:27] Speaker B: There was a lot more going on. [00:27:28] Speaker C: Yeah. I think Elon got pissed that we say we're here to change. [00:27:32] Speaker B: Yeah, Elon was pissed because he came in to slashed a couple trillion dollars, and then Trump proposed another bill that just adds a couple trillion dollars, so basically eliminated everything he did. [00:27:42] Speaker C: The point is Tesla sold more cars after that was slashed because it became less attractive to buy these competitor cars, like, for like. I don't quite know how that all makes sense, but Tesla sales actually went [00:27:55] Speaker B: up, so it probably went up because the government was like, at the end of October, we're going to take this away. [00:28:02] Speaker C: Everybody up until then, it went up after. [00:28:04] Speaker A: It went up after. [00:28:05] Speaker B: Went away. [00:28:06] Speaker C: So that the EV whatever went away. And then Tesla sales spiked, but it was like other options were, like, no longer viable. Like, why would you buy a little ev, Ford Focus or whatever those are called when it now is $7,500 more? And if you're gonna invest that much, I don't know, maybe just get a Tesla. [00:28:24] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:28:25] Speaker A: Interesting. Yeah. Just to break into the market. It will be. [00:28:30] Speaker C: And if there's. If there's one thing I'm a little bit salty about from the first six months of this year, or even like going into the last quarter of last year, is going back to the ecosystem of, you know, you got battery, you got chargers, you got flight intelligence, you have, like, the actual spraying. You have. You have all these components. And there was so much mistrust and bull crap talked about how DJI is kind of out or whatever. And all of these other unproven drone models were talked about. Like, if you want security and you want to have parts, you want to have all the infrastructure to support $100,000 investment in two drones probably don't get DJI because they're done in the US and I believe the actual real story is if you want a airframe system that has been tested at a scale that is 100x versus anything else that's available in the US get the DJI. And what we're finding now is last week we shipped 193 orders from New Way AG alone. And I would say probably 95% of those are parts. [00:29:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:37] Speaker A: And we're also shipping drones and Stuff to spray companies that bought these other drone manufacturer drones to add to their fleet because they were scared of their DJI fleet that they currently had would not either work or would not be able to get parts. But the truth is they've told us that if they wouldn't have the DJI drones that they still kept, they would not be getting any acres done. [00:30:07] Speaker C: That's crazy. [00:30:08] Speaker A: Other models. [00:30:10] Speaker C: That's crazy. [00:30:10] Speaker A: I mean, multiple different people. Yeah. [00:30:12] Speaker B: And they bought these other models and they were like, if we wouldn't have our T40s from that are four years old, we would not be covering any. [00:30:19] Speaker C: And, and we, we had something similar last season. Right. Where it's like you have the story preseason and then the actual season happens and then kind of you hear a different story. And I, I feel like one of the big stories was like DJI will not be supported, their software won't work, you won't have parts, et cetera. And I would tell people, by and large we still have most parts in stock and we still are in the top 1% of Shopify stores that ship same day. We're like some of the fastest shipping and we have huge orders like we're shipping volumes that we never did last year and we're actually better prepared. But I will say, you know, it still worries me that we have enough to support our dealers, our customers. [00:30:57] Speaker A: Well, I think the demand is so high and we've said this before, if you don't have hundreds of millions, it is, it's just hard to keep up with the demand. [00:31:08] Speaker C: We have 1500 products, but that, that [00:31:10] Speaker A: is where it helps to have these other brands come in and try to alleviate some of that. But then those people have issues and then it just puts more burden. [00:31:22] Speaker B: I would say one thing that has been beneficial with the whole DJI scare thing is DJI does care, does seem to care more and is putting more effort in to the US market than ever before. [00:31:34] Speaker C: Yeah, we talked about this. [00:31:36] Speaker B: Like the software updates that, that they're pushing. Dude, it's new beta software almost every other week. [00:31:40] Speaker A: Yep. [00:31:40] Speaker C: And it's almost like it takes them three to four or six months to get going, but once they're going, stuff is being released at a rate actually that you expect from a 10,000 person company. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Yeah, right. But the truth is, it's so funny. Like we, we put DJI in this category of they should just do whatever we tell them. But then that's our brain so small again thinking the, the agricultural market in the U.S. yes, it's big, but they're selling hundreds and millions of drones from enterprise drones to spray drones. How do you do, how do you determine on what product gets the attention? Because we don't use say, say the Avada. I mean, I can only imagine how many Avadas were sold in the world. [00:32:31] Speaker C: Crap. [00:32:32] Speaker A: Ton Avada is a little FPV camera that military uses or they. Well, not military, but police. Police department, police, fire departments, those type of people all over the world. Right. They're probably little glitches or issues that that drone has. And those people are asking, when will you fix this? When will. Then there's this company over here that has spray drones. When are you going to fix this? When are you going to fix that? And then the dji, osmo, the little camera. Maybe there's a little software glitch or something in there. When are you going to fix this? They build thousands of products, but that's [00:33:04] Speaker B: also what makes them so good, is they build so many different things and a lot of those things intertwine with each other. Yeah. They just make the whole supply chain. [00:33:15] Speaker C: Except for the Mavic 3M. And that's probably one of the biggest dumb things that still exist is why. Well, you can't actually fly the boundary with the Mavic Multispectral. [00:33:27] Speaker B: You can't do everything you want to do with it. Yeah. [00:33:29] Speaker C: And if that is. And then nobody really knows. Is that an enterprise drone or an agricultural drone? It's sold on the agricultural line, but it's kind of enterprise. But it doesn't actually have smart farm. And it's like that's kind of dumb. It is, but it's like they're also going towards because they have the connection, the fpv. It's like maybe it's almost like we outgrew to where we thought multispectral would have, you know. [00:33:52] Speaker A: You know, what's nice is even though we sell dji, we still done them publicly. We're allowed. We didn't have to sign an NDA to, to tell them this product is bad. You. It broke here and wiped the arm slam open or whatever. [00:34:11] Speaker B: Right. [00:34:11] Speaker A: We get to say what we want, what's happening in the industry. And people won't believe me because I'm Mike with New Ag and they think you're just saying the other models, you know, on. But a hundred percent, there's companies out there making people sign NDAs so they don't talk about how their product is not, you know, up to par. [00:34:33] Speaker C: And to hold a, to hold a refund or to make it Right. You know, with a customer based on. Yeah, and to have that based on an NDA is. It's kind of crappy. [00:34:44] Speaker A: But if DJI would do that to people, they would. [00:34:46] Speaker C: Yeah, we'd be over it. I feel like all the time, like if we get crap with, you know, we. You were flying a J150 and it crashed and like we show, we show what happened. It's like if we, we show so many T1 hundreds that crash. Like we talk about it. So like, yeah, I'm with you. We, we had to decide, I'd say probably a year or two ago, are we going to be the kind of company that just does promotional videos that talks just good about it or are we going to actually share? [00:35:14] Speaker A: I mean the truth is people can tune into the new AG channel and see, see how we're like, dji, come friggin on. Like get the terrain falling right on the T100. Like you have thousands of engineers. Why is it not terrain falling better? Just I just did it yesterday. I text the engineer. Exactly. I mean, I'm just going to read it to you. Exactly what I told him because I sent him a video, the T100. I was on the beta software and it's coming at me and it completely just breaked. I was like uploading one flight log on this field that I just sent you that it sucks. Like I just told them train fall sucks. And I'm allowed to put that on in my content because it will make them make it better. Just like the emergency shutdown procedure. Remember that whole thing? They laughed at us. And it was the engineer at dji, the solution engineer, he's like, just don't fly two drones. No, that's not the fix here. Yeah, but you don't understand is some people fly these drones that have never flown a drone ever in their life and they're flying around and they're getting used to it and they bring both sticks in into the corners, shuts it down, Boom. And we did that, you know, video said dji fix it. And it was not two weeks later they fixed it. [00:36:26] Speaker B: Yep. [00:36:26] Speaker A: So I just like to have the ability, if you want to be a manufacturer, I don't care who you are manufacturing for, but let me criticize you on your equipment, on what needs to fix. If you're not going to let me criticize you. If I spend $100,000 on your equipment, then I don't want to do business with you. I want to be able to help you make your products better. Yeah, it's that simple. [00:36:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:51] Speaker A: It's just like that company up north wanting to get into the industry of building spray drones. They wanted to sign this big NDA. I was like, I'm not signing this NDA. And so we're not part of it. I don't get it. I don't get it. Why we shouldn't talk about. It's just like the trailer, the new AG trailer. It's, you know, somebody said the axle's not in the right position. Okay, I'll freaking fix it. Fix the axle or it's top heavy. No, it's not. This is why it's not. It should have a foldable railing. Okay, foldable railing. Here you go. Like, yeah, we want to make it better. [00:37:25] Speaker B: Our trailer is now way better than it was originally because people pointed some things out and it's like, heck, yeah, if you. If we want to make it better, let's take other people's, you know, opinions. [00:37:35] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Anyhow, little rant there on the. [00:37:38] Speaker B: I do understand, like, brand new companies that are building something brand new that are. They're not selling out into the market. I do understand companies like that wanting people to sign an NDA because they're not actively actually selling out to end users. [00:37:53] Speaker A: And they're still in that NDA because the problem. [00:37:56] Speaker B: I didn't read that one. [00:37:57] Speaker A: The problem is the NDA is like so harsh that it's like you can't ever, ever, ever, ever. [00:38:05] Speaker C: And even, even after that period, you cannot, like, and you can be held for. I mean, it is a. Like, shut your mouth and don't ever talk about it. Like. [00:38:14] Speaker B: But I do understand, like, if you have your brand new company and you're just basically testing, you're not actually selling to anybody so sign NDA that you're [00:38:22] Speaker A: not going to trash the thing. [00:38:23] Speaker C: I don't know, man. [00:38:24] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:38:25] Speaker A: But if you're actively selling these freaking [00:38:27] Speaker B: drones to end users and making people sign an NDA, you already know your stuff is not up to par. [00:38:33] Speaker C: It's just, I think it's just like, you got to trust the source that you get info from and you got to get multiple sources. Do your own research, all that stuff. But do your own research, dude. There is something happening. Like if you're on Twitter at all, which X is by far the best platform, right? [00:38:48] Speaker A: But why is performing so bad? If it's the best platform, why is it performing so bad? [00:38:53] Speaker C: This is for me to doom scroll on. Doom scroll. Or just to spend time on, like, for read. Yeah, I Like business and tech and AI. So that's where I consume content. And the amount of people that are building in public, like there's this new thing of like, build in public. Like, this is, you know, week two of building this new app or this new thing or whatever. And the amount of engagement and influence and, and how quickly you can improve your product by just being okay to say, this is who I am. I might have a fancy website, but I'm just a guy, you know, building and I'm working hard and I'm a good. I'm listening to everyone. Yeah, like those guys that are building in public, it's kind of a theme. Those guys get traction way faster and they have a shot at getting distribution. And that is the best marketing is, well, look, I mean, if some of these companies would come out and say, well, whatever color drone crashed into the tree and it sucks. And here's why. We figured out that the radar glitched out here. So now we have a fix that coming out next week shouldn't happen again. But like, thanks for if that was the normal thing instead of, yes, we're going to fix that, but do not talk about it. You would get more trust, more views. I don't know. Like, that's the kind of. The long term those people win. But if you. [00:40:04] Speaker A: I would think so. [00:40:05] Speaker C: Take a $20 million investment and then you like, say, we're just. [00:40:10] Speaker B: If it's. If it's so bad you can't show it, then it might put you out of business. [00:40:14] Speaker C: Well, but that's probably the question people have is how bad is it then? [00:40:17] Speaker B: I know, but I'm just saying, like. [00:40:19] Speaker C: And it's better to know how bad it is than to. [00:40:21] Speaker B: Not for the guy buying it, but the company trying to sell something, if it's truly that bad, maybe you don't want to show. [00:40:27] Speaker A: But have you guys ever heard where Elon talks about patents? Like, people ask him about putting a patent on his SpaceX stuff. He's like, why would I ever do that? Why would I ever patent something that would slow down the progression of what somebody else might be able to do? [00:40:45] Speaker C: I think he does patent it, but he makes it available for the people to use. Yeah, yeah. [00:40:49] Speaker A: It's like, it's a good. [00:40:50] Speaker B: I mean, hats off for the guy. [00:40:51] Speaker C: Hats off to the guy. Yeah, yeah. People still hate his guts. [00:40:54] Speaker B: I know. I don't, I don't get it. [00:40:56] Speaker C: I mean, people still hate. [00:40:57] Speaker B: He's a different, different guy. But like what he's already done for humanity and what he's wanting to do. [00:41:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:41:04] Speaker B: Like he's the first trillionaire, but he's not. [00:41:07] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:41:07] Speaker B: He doesn't seem like money is not his motivation. [00:41:10] Speaker A: Oh, of course not anymore. [00:41:12] Speaker B: Well, I don't think he. [00:41:13] Speaker A: He needs money to keep progressing well. Yeah. [00:41:16] Speaker C: And his motivation is. I think he really wants to go to Mars at some point. And then he wants to. I think he would probably do a one way ticket to Mars eventually. [00:41:24] Speaker A: A one way. [00:41:24] Speaker C: I think he would. [00:41:25] Speaker B: I don't think you. Well, I don't know. Guy's crazy. [00:41:28] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know. [00:41:29] Speaker C: Like, if you have all the money you have, like, what is the point? The point is to make humanity what? Interplanetary? [00:41:35] Speaker B: Multi planetary or something. [00:41:36] Speaker C: Multi planetary. I don't know. [00:41:39] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:41:39] Speaker A: It's gonna take a lot of convincing. The corn fungicide season's coming. Yep. And it's already started down south in Kentucky. They're absolutely ripping it. And I. I had a guy send me a photo yesterday. He sent me a picture in that Bowling Green area of where we were spraying last year. Ripping. What did we do? [00:41:55] Speaker B: T60x7 500 acres or something like that. [00:41:58] Speaker A: 8,000. Yeah. I'm just like, oh, I just want to go like, just for like a week or two just to rip like it's corn funches. It's like it's got its own little thing. [00:42:10] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [00:42:11] Speaker C: There's its own hype to it. Yeah. [00:42:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. We did get a little bit of [00:42:15] Speaker B: a taste in Florida a couple weeks [00:42:17] Speaker A: ago, but it's not like ripping up here. [00:42:19] Speaker B: Yeah, no, that's. That's nice. [00:42:21] Speaker A: Yep. But that's coming. And drones are starting to go down because that's just what they do. They're in. In an environment that is high risk, but our service guys are keeping up with it right now, I think. [00:42:35] Speaker B: I think so too. Yeah. [00:42:37] Speaker A: Anything there? [00:42:38] Speaker C: I think so. We have a T50 that's been sitting for two weeks that I don't like. [00:42:43] Speaker A: Oh. [00:42:44] Speaker C: Do you know why parts came in this week? T50 parts. [00:42:48] Speaker A: Okay. So we were waiting on parts. [00:42:50] Speaker C: Yeah, we've been waiting on parts for at least one T50. T1 hundreds. I think we're super well stocked. But I was actually talking about some data, looking at data and there's more T40s and T50s flying out there by a long shot. [00:43:04] Speaker B: There's more. There's over 50% of the drones flying are T40s. [00:43:07] Speaker C: Isn't that crazy? [00:43:08] Speaker B: Well, I don't know about this year because we Sold a bunch of hundreds. [00:43:10] Speaker C: Yeah. So. And it's. It's difficult to know, like, how to. How much, how. Like, how many parts do you buy for T40s? [00:43:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:18] Speaker C: For T50s. [00:43:18] Speaker B: Well, the thing is, too, we never really sold many. I mean, we probably sold less than 10. T40s. [00:43:22] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:43:23] Speaker A: Because we were just getting into the game. [00:43:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:25] Speaker C: T50s. [00:43:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:26] Speaker C: Yeah. We use T40s, right? [00:43:28] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. In our first year, first season was T40s. When you had said earlier about shutting the radar off, you'd fly all the time with the radar off with the T40s because the terrain falling was that bad where we were flying. Now, I talked to guys that are flying T40s in Kansas. They'll still fly T40s in Kansas. [00:43:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. They don't have to. [00:43:47] Speaker A: Terrain. [00:43:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:48] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know. I. It all depends on what area you're in. Would I pick a D40 to fly here? Not a chance. Not even a chance. I got. We got the old John Deere drone up there in top of the loft. We should probably sell that T40. If somebody wants it, they can reach. [00:44:03] Speaker B: I don't know if we could sell it. [00:44:04] Speaker A: Oh, we can sell it. [00:44:06] Speaker B: We need to hang that thing on the wall at some point. [00:44:09] Speaker A: If we do that, let's just throw [00:44:11] Speaker C: it in the hall of fame or the hall of shame. What is it? [00:44:13] Speaker B: I don't know. That they did pretty dang good for us. [00:44:15] Speaker A: It did pretty good. Yeah. Did pretty good. [00:44:17] Speaker B: No, it's been through it. [00:44:19] Speaker A: We got rain coming again. It's good. Keeps the corn growing. [00:44:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:44:23] Speaker A: What are you looking at? [00:44:23] Speaker C: This week we also got news that finally. You remember Michigan. [00:44:28] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, yeah. [00:44:30] Speaker C: You remember that? Yeah. [00:44:31] Speaker A: It's official. We lost. [00:44:32] Speaker C: We lost Michigan. So if you've been following drone deer for any length of time, you know that we were served. What was it? A cease. It was a cease and assist. Right. [00:44:42] Speaker A: I don't remember what it was, but they basically. [00:44:45] Speaker B: I think it was. [00:44:45] Speaker A: Yeah, but you have to just give them a brief overview what we lost on. Not that you can't do deer recovery, but our fight was that we had the right to give them a GPS coordinates of where the deer is. And we were fighting them on that. They're taking away our first. [00:45:03] Speaker C: First amendment right, which is freedom of speech. [00:45:08] Speaker A: And that's what we lost on because we might still go to Michigan and do deer recoveries and then just fight them in court because their. Their statute doesn't actually. [00:45:18] Speaker B: Kind of just like the Illinois guy. [00:45:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:19] Speaker C: They're enforcing Something that maybe isn't actually written. But yeah, the fight was if it is an infringement of your first amendment rights to communicate GPS is that you see on a screen to a customer, is that infringe on your right if you're prevented from doing that? And we were affirming that it is. [00:45:34] Speaker A: And, you know, but the court basically just threw it out. They never even really wanted to hear us. [00:45:39] Speaker C: Yeah. And then the Supreme Court denied, like, it even hearing. So it didn't go to the Supreme Court and lose. They did. Like, they're pretty selective on what they [00:45:47] Speaker A: allow to come in and they just. They were able to tell them the. A little bit of our story and they were like, now we don't want to hear that. [00:45:53] Speaker C: Something else that's cool, by the way, is we don't talk about it much, but we probably should start thinking about this again. The pilot locator on Join the Recovery. I go on there and every day, literally every day there are leads and reviews and missions happening by our 300 some pilots or, I don't know, four [00:46:10] Speaker A: or five, probably mostly pet recovery stuff. [00:46:12] Speaker C: A lot of pet recovery. But, dude, it's like that is the number one place to find a thermal drone pilot. [00:46:18] Speaker A: Sure. [00:46:18] Speaker C: And, you know, coming into the season, we're going to add some new improvements. We're going to make a bigger deal about it, start advertising for it again. But even in the off season, like, the amount of traffic that thing gets and the amount of work we create for thermal pilots is amazing. [00:46:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:46:31] Speaker C: And it comes back to distribution. The app is cool, but there's distribution behind it. That's the difference. [00:46:36] Speaker B: I talked to a guy and, well, he was one of the first guys that bought T40s from us, also bought thermal drones. He said he's doing three to four recoveries every night. Every night. [00:46:46] Speaker C: That camp. I mean, is that real? Like, I hear that. I'm like, is that real? Is that a real thing? [00:46:50] Speaker B: He said he's going to add another drone or two, just in different parts of his. He's in Mississippi. [00:46:54] Speaker A: I mean, hats off to the people that want to go look. Yeah. I wouldn't want to. Remember when we went looking for those little puppies we did find. [00:47:00] Speaker B: We did find them. [00:47:00] Speaker A: It's. [00:47:01] Speaker B: It is pretty rewarding when you find stuff like that. But it's a lot more difficult than finding a deer. [00:47:05] Speaker A: Yes. [00:47:06] Speaker B: Because, you know, the thing's not hurt. It might have just ran a straight mile 10 miles away. And that has literally happened where we went look for a little wiener dog or Something. And the next day was found literally 15 miles away. Yeah, that's like, you're not going to find that thing. [00:47:20] Speaker C: Yeah, it's been. Man, I have not had a dog since I was probably 14 years old. I'd love to have a dog. [00:47:26] Speaker A: Go buy yourself a dog. [00:47:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Go buy your kids a dog. [00:47:29] Speaker C: Yeah. Why don't I have a dog? I don't know why I don't have a dog. This week, our cat. [00:47:32] Speaker B: This week you're gonna go buy a dog. [00:47:34] Speaker C: Well, our cat had. Had kittens. [00:47:37] Speaker A: Okay. [00:47:38] Speaker C: And one of the kittens had a. Like, the umbilical cord was wrapped around its leg. And my wife, like, it just reminded me, like, this is why people, like, will do anything for a drone pilot to find their pet. Because my wife called me almost in tears that, like. Like, what do I do with, you know, this, like, this little kitten, newborn kitten. And the cat is like, the cat sticks around because we feed it occasionally. I mean, okay, we feed it every day. The boys are supposed to feed it every day. [00:48:07] Speaker A: But it's like, yeah, you're starting to. You're gonna be a cat man. [00:48:12] Speaker C: No, I. Definitely not. But when you want to go on trips and stuff for a month, having a dog is hard. So I haven't figured out how to do that. I'll just bring them over and. [00:48:22] Speaker A: Nope. That's why my dogs aren't here anymore. [00:48:24] Speaker B: We also got a cat. [00:48:26] Speaker C: They're easy. Yeah. Right on. [00:48:28] Speaker B: And she also has little ones. There's four. Four little ones. But it's actually kind of cool to have. I don't care about it at all. Yeah. So I don't really care what the kids do with it. Yeah. Or do with little ones. And they love it. [00:48:39] Speaker C: Like, they love the cat, the kittens. [00:48:40] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:48:41] Speaker C: Yeah. And it is easy to see why you would go to the ends of the earth almost, you know, to, like, find or save it. [00:48:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:48:48] Speaker B: Depending on what it is. [00:48:50] Speaker C: And some people, man, they're just wired that way. Like, they have a heart of love and compassion. [00:48:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:48:54] Speaker C: It's not very reasonable. [00:48:55] Speaker B: And some people also, like, some people don't have kids, and their pets are their kids. Like, literally, I have never seen. I mean. Yeah. I don't know how people. [00:49:03] Speaker A: I mean, some people are killing it, just out there looking for pets for them. But you have to do it with passion, though, too. Like, you're not just going to go out there and take people's money and, you know, do it for five minutes and then get paid if you're going to do it that way, you're going to struggle because you will get called out. But there's a guy I know in Florida just breaking, killing it. [00:49:25] Speaker B: And a lot of these people, the ones that are actually good and helping people, are getting, not necessarily all their clients from us. They're getting referrals from the clients that [00:49:33] Speaker A: they work for already. Yep. That's how they're really deer or the pilot locator map. It's just a good place to get started. And. And then you can also share that profile with your customers and you can. They can see who you are. Yeah, no. There's any good updates on the Kansas store before we wrap this thing up? [00:49:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, I mentioned a little bit earlier, but we have last signage being built. Man, it is. It is a retail store. Like, you walk in. [00:50:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:01] Speaker C: Like, unlike anything else that I'm aware [00:50:04] Speaker A: of in the US Like, I'm talking a real retail store. Like, just so people understand, this is something where you walk through the door just like you would at a Verizon Wireless. If you want to go look at the latest iPhone, it's just like that. You want to go see the latest, you know, this thing, Matrix 4 TD. You walk through the door, you go check it out. [00:50:25] Speaker B: Yep. [00:50:25] Speaker C: It's gonna be one of a kind. It's gonna be really awesome. And the thing that I'm excited about is you can actually physically walk in the door, say, hmm, which one do I want? I want that one. And you can have like, we'll bring it out of the warehouse, load you up, and then we won't do this all the time, but we might even be able to train you in the same day. If you're within a couple hours. Men, our team is going to go to you and train you in your fields. [00:50:50] Speaker A: That's huge. [00:50:51] Speaker C: So I'm really excited about it. I will say for that front of house stuff to work correctly, this is like building in public. Right. But for that stuff to work correctly, you need a backend. Like, some of what we're doing here, we're doing regulations. We're doing all of the customer service, service center, but then to actually ship stuff out the warehouse, the service center, like, that is in progress. And I mean, I love seeing how our 35 team members now both in Kansas and Ohio, and I'm kind of in the loop now. Like, we're. We're like. Austin told me this morning, he said, I'm not sure, but if I need to go down there to help out, I'll just jump on a plane and be down there for three or four days next week. And so our whole team is just doing whatever it takes to make that. [00:51:33] Speaker B: That's huge. [00:51:33] Speaker A: Whatever it takes to make it work. [00:51:34] Speaker C: It's so exciting. It's so exciting. [00:51:36] Speaker A: Guys, go check it out. Wichita, Kansas. Do you have the phone number for it? I haven't memorized it yet. I've memorized their other one, 234-271-22767, but I don't have the one memorized down there yet. [00:51:48] Speaker C: But it's on the screen right now. [00:51:49] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, they can. They can also find it on newegg.com on the. The dealer locator map if you guys want to go check that out. Thanks so much for sitting down. Do you want to add something else? [00:51:58] Speaker C: I was just going to say the last thing I'm excited about is the more that I see agricultural drones going from 4% to 8%. You know, let's try to work on that. The more I see how existing farm implementation dealers have a huge role to play. And this week we built out some training infrastructure and also built out some contractual agreements that allow an existing farm and implement store with multiple locations to basically a no risk guarantee to where if they have the drones in their showroom and they don't sell them for six months, we'll buy them back at the same price, like contractually contract. [00:52:37] Speaker A: If that doesn't make somebody want to at least put the product on their showroom floor. [00:52:42] Speaker B: Nothing. [00:52:43] Speaker A: I just don't know that John Deere is going to come to you. Hey, set a couple of John Deere tractors on your lot and if you [00:52:49] Speaker B: don't sell them, we'll bring it right back. [00:52:50] Speaker C: Yeah, I don't. I know that's going to. [00:52:52] Speaker A: Right? [00:52:52] Speaker C: Yeah. But maybe that would have happened, you know, when John Deere was trying to get market saturation. Maybe, but like, no, John Deere doesn't need to do that. But I feel like for us, you know, we're doing a limited test. So not, we're not going to do this for hundreds and hundreds of, you know, out of the gate, but we just want to demonstrate our confidence and this is the future and we're here to support it. And we're also invested in you being successful. And I feel like that is the new. Like you should be able to go to new and find a dealer within two hours of you and go there. [00:53:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:23] Speaker C: And that's why when we say we're going to build out our dealer, our own stores, because we're not going to build out to where we have one of our own stores within two hours of most of where there's act. We can't even get close to doing that. So we need to hundreds of dealers and DJ man, DJI is, is supporting not just from us as the distributor, but just in general the US market and in building out these dealers and stuff. And I feel like agriculture has been brutal the way it's been hit. I mean the economy, agricultural, diesel, everything is bad. But the next six months, I think you're going to see winners and losers emerge. That's my prediction is in about 90 days from now. Today is like end of June. In 90 days there will be much more clear winners and losers in the agricultural drone space than what there is now. Not distributors, colors of drones, manufacturers. I think it's going to, I see it is going to become clear. [00:54:17] Speaker A: So if it's like red, blue, yellow, black, orange, white, wrapped in a purple DJ T250 coming soon. Can't tell people that. [00:54:25] Speaker C: Brand new drone. [00:54:26] Speaker A: Yeah, brand new drone. Make sure to tune into our YouTube channels, Instagram, TikTok. That's where it's going to be first released. [00:54:33] Speaker C: 250 you said, right? [00:54:34] Speaker B: Yep. The DJT 250 in honor of the 250th year. [00:54:37] Speaker A: Yep. Yeah, we've, we've been keeping it kind of on the back burner. [00:54:41] Speaker C: By the time you see this, it's very close to the end. [00:54:45] Speaker A: It should be very close. [00:54:46] Speaker C: Do we do that a lot? [00:54:47] Speaker A: Be excited on who's going to announce it for us. [00:54:50] Speaker B: Oh yeah, that's huge. [00:54:53] Speaker A: It's going to be huge. So, yeah, just if you stuck around for this podcast and you made it all the way to the end of the podcast right now, comment on YouTube DJT250 that way I know that you, you're an actual OG and I'm excited to bring you guys that drone. We'll see. See what the feedback will be on it. [00:55:14] Speaker B: So be interesting. [00:55:15] Speaker A: All right. [00:55:16] Speaker C: This was fun. [00:55:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I always have fun sitting down chatting with you guys, but that's all we got. Thanks so much guys for tuning in. We'll see you guys on the next one.
